(comment) It was serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine from issue 50 in 1973 to issue 1 in 1976, then moved to Monthly Shonen Magazine in 1976 where it ran for a year.
The KC version is 8 volumes in total, but ends halfway through, with the last 9 installments of the weekly serialization not included.
The KC Special Edition published in 1983 includes the complete series, and in addition to the end of the weekly serialization, some of the monthly serialization installments are also included in the final volume.
(However, the spoon bending story included in the latter half of volume 4 of the KC version is not included in the Special Edition.)
This time, the set up to Shin Ushiro no Hyakutaro is included.
