(comment) This is the little-known theatrical version of the first Magical Circle Guru Guru anime. It’s one of three films screened at the "Shonen Gangan Theater Anime Festival ’96." Although it’s only about 30 minutes long, similar to a TV episode, it has a festive feel typical of a movie, with semi-regular ally characters like Juju, Toma, and Kita Kita Oyaji appearing properly. While the mountain fairy Mokkoro delights in Kukuri’s failed spell, in the foreground a priest who took damage protecting Juju lies collapsed in a chaotic scene, and in another striking image the composed Kita Kita old man stands with the unusually gathered heroines Kukuri and Juju quietly arrayed behind him-these memorable scenes are all present.
