(comment) From the pasted-on title lettering, typesetting, and even the there is discoloration due to ageing after the placement of the tape, this is not merely a single image, but a manga manuscript that actually went through the publishing process of the Showa era. Combining the echoes of Kashi-hon manga with the depth of Tsuge's expression moving towards autobiographical Reference Materials, this important piece, "Yoshio's Youth," is a long, autobiographical work by Yoshiji Tsuge that depicts the weight of life as a Kashi-hon Manga artist, ambition for creation, poverty, and human weakness through the young manga artist "Yoshio." The title page, clearly marked "Series 3, Final Chapter," depicts a room in a frontispiece(Japanese inn), a woman reflected in a mirror, a bewildered man, and the rough texture of the futon and sliding doors. There, the contradiction of "dreamlike yet reality itself," characteristic of Tsuge's works, is condensed with chilling humor.
