(comment) A photobook by Rafal Milach, a visual artist from Poland. In the early part of his career as a photographer he focused on social issues based on the "collapse" and "transformations" in the former Communist bloc, but this book takes a different tone and is a road-trip journal with a friend touring Iceland. The Icelandic writer who accompanied him, Huldar Breidfjord, seemed inwardly exasperated that the wayward Mira halted the car repeatedly to take photos, but he was quite cooperative with the project itself, and the prose included here was written by him. In recent years his work has tended toward the conceptual rather than commenting on social issues, but this book is different from both and carries a free, private atmosphere (Sakuma).
