(comment) This is an extremely rare shikishi (decorative paper board) featuring Yokoyama's Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and what's more, it was drawn during the serialization. Liu Bei in the illustration is depicted as emperor, but perhaps because he passed away in 1985, the year before the shikishi was drawn, his expression is calmer than in the manga, lacking the sternness he usually displays. The title "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" is accompanied by the name of Liu Bei, and not only is the illustration meticulously drawn, but the signature is also carefully done, making it a piece that shines with quality at first glance. This was prepared for me when I interviewed him about the production of a Romance of the Three Kingdoms fanzine (Yamaya).
