(comment) Yoko and Fukase married in 1964 and remained husband and wife for 12 years, sharing a complicit relationship as photographer and subject. However, they eventually came to an end when they could no longer tell if their time together was because they were married or simply for the sake of photography. Just as a great photographer sometimes captures a single image that seems to foreshadow the future, the finished photobook is interspersed with somber images of crows that foreshadow their subsequent separation. This book solidified Masahisa Fukase's image as a solitary "personal photographer" (Sakuma).
