(comment) Monthly Newtype April 1987 issue lottery gifts. Akemi Takada in 1987 was in the mature stage as an anime character designer. Maison Ikkoku, Orange Road, Patlabor, all work around the year. On the other hand, in 1986, she held her first group exhibition and published her first art book. It was also a time when her illustrator's pursuit and cultivation progressed as she worked in a variety of media, especially finishing the original complete paintings. The model of Shikishi is Mayumi, the main character of "Twilight Q", the first work of the OVA series, "Time Knot REFLECTION". Only four of the colored Shikishis of the same work have been confirmed to exist. Of those four points, only this colored Shikishi does not have a magazine name or address, and is a masterpiece in terms of drawing, coloring, and character expressions. A faint emotion that seems to cut out a moment, which is different from expressionlessness. The texture that has faded over time has the same taste as a sepia-colored photograph, just seems like the storyline of this work, in which the time leap begins with the camera picked up from the sea. After 35 years, it is in rare condition, with a different beauty than when it was painted. Akemi Takada is making great strides as an illustrator toward the 90s. This is an outstanding piece of work that conveys the turning point of her career, along with the atmosphere of the late 80s. (Yamatani)
