(comment) This drawing was created at the wrap-up party for the Movie Version of "Genma Taisen," during a relaxed atmosphere where drinks were being served. We approached him and he quickly sketched it on a piece of memo paper that was available. This film was the one in which Otomo was in charge of character design and also served as his first major step into animation production. While the overall image, including the facial expressions and physique, is in Otomo's signature style without exaggeration, it also incorporates elements of Ishinomori's characters, such as the stand-up collar with large round buttons, making it irresistibly appealing to fans of both artists (Sugawara).
