(comment) This piece was exhibited at the 32nd Kyoto Shimbun Charity Art Exhibition in 2014. It was drawn during the serialization of AWAY in the monthly magazine "flowers" after the end of the main series in 2001. Jeremy is depicted more maturely than in the main series, which depicts his life from age 15 to 19. Wearing a muffler and winter attire, it is likely a December spent on the cliff with Ian, one of several years later. Despite being a long-running series, "Cruel God Rules" is remarkably rare among Moto Hagio's original works. Jeremy glares with a fierce, feverish gaze, as if experiencing a fever, just like the title "Fever." The illustration is highly accomplished, and its beautiful form is a masterpiece that should be preserved forever (Kinjo).
